WSC Instagram Takeover

If you missed the recent Instagram Takeover, you can still view a brief recap of the week! Four of our students posted photos to show you what a day in the life of a WSC student is really like. They took us along with them to their classes, study sessions, popular local establishments, hang outs with friends, and more. Below is an overview—to view all photos go to our Instagram account.

day 1: dan warne, m.div. student

“I'm Dan Warne (M.Div. Class of 2017) and I'm looking forward to sharing a slice of seminary life with you today. I grew up in Sinaloa, Mexico on the mission field. My wife Mariana is the real photographer, but I love capturing moments of my last semester at Westminster. After graduation, I plan to continue writing for Haven Today as I pursue pastoral ministry in the PCA.”

“One of the greatest blessings of studying at WSC has been the high priority given to helping students translate and interpret God's Word from the original languages.”

“Another thing I love about WSC is that we're a small community that laughs and learns together.”

“Keeping it international and enjoying a bratwurst broil amongst Americans, Ukrainians, Filipinos and Koreans after a long day!”

day 2: Vanessa aboy, m.a.b.s. student

“Greetings! Vanessa Aboy here, and I’ll be taking over WSC’s Instagram today! I am a M.A.B.S student class of 2017, I’m a native San Diegan and I hope to teach younger people God’s word and help provide gospel-centered counseling after I graduate. “

“Every Wednesday morning we are blessed to gather in groups with other students and our advisors to pray. It has been a great time of encouragement and helped me feel more connected with my brothers and sisters in Christ at the seminary.”

“Grabbed some good coffee and chats today with a friend!”

“One of the benefits of being a student at WSC is you can sit in on as many classes as you like! I'm loving the lecture today on Prayer & Worship in Christian Life with Dr. Fesko.”

day 3: richard haynes, m.a.t.s. student

“Hey WSC fam! My name is Richard Haynes, I'm a second year MA Theological Studies student. This past summer my wife and I got married in Chico, CA. After seminary, I hope to apply my studies here at WSC by loving and teaching others through Christian education, youth/campus ministry, missions, or wherever else the Lord may lead me. “

“The first stop of the day is Peterson's Donut Corner. Every seminarian knows that there is no better way to start off a day of studying than with a fresh donut!”

“Meet the interns/pastor of Resurrection SD. We are a PCA church plant in downtown San Diego that exists to minister to the hurting and share the gospel of Christ to the lost. Each intern is a student at WSC, and our pastor, Rob Novak, is a graduate from Westminster Class of 2013. Thursday afternoons we gather at lunch to discuss ministry, share laughs, and pray for our church.”

“After a day full of classes and studying, the WSCAL community goes out to get exercise with the universal sport… SOCCER!! ”

day 4: Irene Lo, m.a.t.s. & M.A.B.S. student

“My name is Pan-Yun Lo (Irene). It has been a blessed year since I came from Taiwan. I enjoy having this glamorous sunshine almost everyday while doing my MA in Theological Studies and Biblical Studies here. God willing, I'll graduate in 2019 and I'll be willing to serve wherever He leads me.”

“What I love about studying at WSC is how I get to learn rigorous truths from God-fearing, humble professors. This morning in Reformed Confession class, Dr. Clark talked about God's providence.”

“One way of receiving God's grace through my church = taking my little housemate with me to get free bread!”

“Studying in three languages is a little bit crazy sometimes. But to learn God's Word in Hebrew and Greek is one of the reasons why I'm here.”
