At Westminster Seminary California, ministry preparation extends far beyond the classroom. Students are equipped for every area of ministry life through theological study, personal relationships with faculty and staff, and doing life together in community. United by a commitment to Christ and his gospel, our faculty and staff invest in the lives of students, helping them grow in knowledge, wisdom, character, and a deeper readiness to serve Christ and his church faithfully.
President Kim is the son of a Christian Reformed Church minister. When he was nine years of age, he and his family moved from South Korea to Southern California, where he would learn English and retain fluency in Korean. Since his graduation from WSC in 1997, President Kim became a minister in the Presbyterian Church in America and has served as a pastor in several churches in Michigan and Southern California. He began teaching New Testament at WSC in 2005, and in 2017 he was appointed as the fourth president of WSC.
