W. Robert Godfrey, President Emeritus of Westminster Seminary California, delivers the 2018 commencement address. On May 26,  2018, WSC sent forth 26 students to serve as pastors, teachers, missionaries, and leaders for the church and for the world. 

Good stories are never just stories. Authors by what they include and what they exclude and by how they structure their stories are doing more than developing a plot; they are making a point. Reflecting on the narratives of great literature can help us learn more from the narratives of the Bible.

As a young Californian many things in Pennsylvania were a little strange. One oddity for me was that the lunch break at seminary began at 1:00 p.m. That seemed late to me (and I was hungry by then). So I asked someone why lunch was so late. The shocked reply was “because that was the way they did it at old Princeton.” In time I would discover that that was the answer to many questions, and, for me as a historian, it was a very satisfying answer.
