The glory of the gospel is that Jesus came into the world to save great sinners like you and me. In yet another act of overflowing mercy, he chooses to use us to display his grace to the world.

In 2 Tim 2:1, Paul calls Timothy to a strength that can only come from the gracious realities of the gospel.

 As Paul encourages Timothy to press on in his ministry, he describes the Gospel and its spread. It is all the work of God, and yet the Lord's servants play a crucial role.

It is necessary to gain the right kind of confidence in the Word of God and in preaching.
