MA in Theological Studies

Class of 2008

What work or ministries have you been involved with since graduation?

I’ve been able to edit theological manuscripts for content and grammar (I was an English undergrad major as well). I’ve also taught all kids’ grades in Sunday School, using pre-made curriculum, but also creating my own curriculum. I’ve been able to do content creation for church and non-profit websites.

Have you pursued/completed further education since graduation? If so, where?

I took counseling classes through CCEF and continue to counsel in our current church.

How has your seminary education been valuable in your current vocation (or any vocation since graduation)? Has it been valuable in ways you weren’t expecting?

I’ve been able to frame themes in the Bible in ways that are helpful to others. I’ve also been able to analyze what other writers say about the Bible and help them articulate it better.

What would you say to a woman who is currently considering seminary education at WSC?

Do it! You may be able to use your education in ways you can’t see now, but you’ll be thankful you got the education. It’s also a Master’s degree, which is helpful in getting a job.
