What work or ministries have you been involved with since graduation?

Youth ministry (preaching regularly, writing bible studies, counseling students as they ask questions about Christianity and culture).

How has your seminary education been valuable in your current vocation (or any vocation since graduation)? Has it been valuable in ways you weren’t expecting?

I did not realize how much the professors’ model of teaching-shepherd impacted me until I began teaching and shepherding more regularly. Not only did they equip me to be confident in what I teach/preach but also trained me to be patient and pastoral with those whom I minister to. I am able to talk theology with the most learned of my congregation and point the youngest of my congregation to Christ from all of Scripture. The ability to engage both charitably and critically with different positions has opened the door for more conversations with those inside and outside the church walls.

What would you say to someone who is currently considering seminary education at WSC?

Come to WSC. Ministerial education is not just taught but caught, and you will get both at WSC. It won’t be easy, but it will train you well to do the work of ministry wherever God calls you to.
