Class of 2023
What work or ministries have you been involved with since graduation?
Assistant Pastor at Inland English Ministry (shepherding, preaching, visiting). Doing ministry to college students in the greater Inland Empire area.
Have you pursued/completed further education since graduation? If so, where?
I will be pursuing a Th.M. in the Fall of 2024.
How has your seminary education been valuable in your current vocation (or any vocation since graduation)? Has it been valuable in ways you weren’t expecting?
My seminary education has equipped me to preach the whole counsel of God. In many ways, it has shaped me to think critically about issues facing the church and the world. It has also helped me be charitable towards those who have different theological, political, and cultural stances on many issues. While seminary didn’t give me all of the answers to every question, it has equipped me to think biblically and confessionally about the issues facing the church. Overall, Westminster Seminary California has equipped me to feed and care for the sheep and engage those outside of the church.
What would you say to someone who is currently considering seminary education at WSC?
Study at Westminster. While you may not agree entirely with every professor on every little idea, the professors genuinely care and are godly men who will work with you to think about theological questions and issues of interpretation. The rigor and the reputation of Westminster frightened me at first, but looking back, if I had to re-do my seminary education, I would pick Westminster and do it all over again. Westminster will prepare you not only to be a scholar but to be a well-rounded pastor to serve the flock with the gospel week in and week out.
