Sola Scriptura and Missions Lectures
These talks will explore the historic understanding of Sola Scriptura and its relevance to ministry in Southeast Asia. Each lecture will be held in the WSC chapel at 10-11am.
Lecture 1 | November 13 | 10-11am
Scripture and Missions in Southeast Asia
We shall discuss the challenges and opportunities to engage in witness to Southeast Asians in light of differences in worldview, authority, and the nature of sacred writings.
Lecture 2 | November 14 | 10-11am
Popes, Councils, and Church leadership in Southeast Asia
In this lecture we will discuss the stereotypical portrait of a leader in Southeast Asia and then explore the implications of Sola Scriptura in the life and practice of leadership in the Church.
Rev. Dr. Lloyd Kim received an M.Div. from Westminster Seminary California and a Ph.D. from Fuller Theological Seminary. He served as associate pastor with New Life Mission Church (PCA) in Fullerton, Calif., before joining MTW. Dr. Lloyd is a Presbyterian minister and the coordinator of Mission to the World, the missions agency of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
