We had a great turnout of 10 prospective students and applicants who came from 3 states, including from the San Diego area and from across California. During their campus visit they were able to sit in on Greek 2 class with Dr. Telfer as well as Gospels and Acts with Dr. Baugh. There were several opportunities to richly interact with WSC faculty (including Pres. Kim), staff and current students during Q&A sessions, over lunch, and during the Student Association's “Welcome Back to Campus” Fall BBQ. The visitors were very eager and excited to see the building progress on the new campus housing during the campus tour. Several visitors stayed through the weekend to worship at local churches and get to know the San Diego/Escondido areas. As part of their visit, they each received a folder of information and a free faculty-written book to take home.
Let's remember to pray for these visitors and for their families while they pray about and consider WSC as well as their callings, opportunities, logistical needs, and as they seek to make God-glorifying and wise decisions in upcoming weeks and months.
Our next SFAD event will be held on January 12, 2018 in conjunction with the annual Faculty Conference. Prospective students who attend Seminary for a Day are able to attend the faculty conference for free! SFAD is held on Friday during the day, and then prospective students are encouraged to attend the conference Friday evening and Saturday during the day. This is a great opportunity to hear many of our faculty teach on an exciting topic. Click the link below to register for a visit.
Seminary for a Day is a campus wide event that is all about prospective students. The day starts with breakfast and coffee, and then you’ll take a tour of campus and hear about the history and mission of WSC. You’ll attend Morning Devotions, which is our chapel program. You’ll sit on two classes to really get a feel for what the education is like here. You’ll attend a faculty panel, where several faculty members will answer your questions about WSC. You’ll also attend a panel of enrollment staff, who will answer logistical questions about applying, financial aid, housing, and more. Enrollment staff are also available all day to answer personal questions. You’ll eat lunch with the whole campus, which is a great time to chat with faculty and current students. By the end of the day, you’ll have a good sense of what this seminary is about and whether it’s a good fit for you.
