On September 2, 2020 the incoming class for the 2020-2021 academic year was officially welcomed to the Westminster Seminary California community through a virtual New Student Orientation. The event was led by new Dean of Students, Rev. Chuck Tedrick. The Orientation began with a welcome and devotional by President Joel Kim, and was followed by presentations from the Academic Dean, Dean of Students, Vice President for Enrollment and the Westminster Student Association. That evening, new students, faculty, and staff reconvened for a virtual New Student Reception—an annual highlight where students are given the opportunity to introduce themselves and share what led them to Westminster Seminary California and what they hope to do upon completing their seminary education. The Fall 2020 class includes 36 new students (22 Master of Divinity, 13 Master of Arts, and 1 Visiting Student) from 6 different countries and 11 U.S. states and represent a variety of denominations, including the PCA, OPC, URCNA, KAPC, and CRCNA.
Thursday, September 3, marked the beginning of the 41st academic year at Westminster Seminary California, highlighted by an opening President's Chapel with Rev. Joel Kim delivering a address from Romans 8:31-39 on “The Inseparable God.” Click here to listen.
The fall semester began online in a virtual format. WSC will resume face-to-face in-person courses on Tuesday, September 8, while maintaining an online/hybrid option for those students who are unable to join us in person.
The Lord has indeed been good to us over these past few months and we are thankful for his provision and protection over our community and look forward to the year to come. In this particular time we are acutely aware of the need for well prepared ministers to preach the Gospel, for the glory of Christ, in the service of His Church.
