Some of our students choose to pursue two degrees at once. Learn more about these exciting seminary dual degree program possibilities!
The MABS-MATS program (3 years, 98 credit hours) offers a comprehensive curriculum in Biblical and Theological Studies. By studying Scripture’s original languages, literary forms, and historical context, graduates will be enabled to exegete God’s Word accurately and analyze contemporary biblical interpretation with discernment. Students examine Scripture in its original languages and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to accurately exegete God’s Word and recognize the systematic theological framework revealed therein, all with an awareness of the literary and historical context in which the biblical narrative is situated. The MABS-MATS program is an excellent choice for students interested in parachurch teaching ministries or Christian education.
The MDiv-MAHT program (4 years, 140 credits) pairs WSC’s time-honored MDiv curriculum with our unique MAHT program. This MDiv dual degree program is designed to train candidates for official, ordained ministries of instruction and leadership in the church, who have a particular interest in church history and the history of Christian theology. It also serves as excellent preparation for those hoping to pursue PhD work after seminary. Students are equipped with an understanding of the historical development of the various Christian theological traditions and the critical skills necessary for evaluating them and using this knowledge to faithfully preach the Word of God. Through studying the history of exegetical and dogmatic theology, graduates will be enabled to evaluate the theological formulations of each epoch with historical sensitivity and to relate the great issues of historical theology to contemporary intellectual and cultural movements.

In a seminary dual degree program at WSC, a student pursues two degrees concurrently, or, in some cases, consecutively. Some of the credits taken towards the requirements for one degree are allowed to meet some of the requirements for a second degree. These degrees can be pursued concurrently or consecutively.
Possible combinations include MABS-MATS, MDiv-MAHT, as well as MATS-MAHT, and MABS-MAHT. Because nearly the entire MABS and MATS are already represented in the MDiv curriculum, neither of those degrees can be combined with the MDiv. For more information on MATS-MAHT and MABS-MAHT dual degrees, please contact admissions.
