On March 6-8, 2018, Rev. Dr. Jon D. Payne will be welcomed as the 2018 den Dulk lecturer at WSC. His lectures will take place each day at 10:00-11:00am in the chapel and will be livestreamed online for those unable to attend in person.
Rev. Dr. Jon D. Payne is the senior pastor and organizer of Christ Church Presbyterian (PCA) in Charleston, South Carolina. Before planting Christ Church, Dr. Payne served for ten years as senior pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA), near Atlanta, GA (2003-2013). He is a graduate of Clemson University, Reformed Theological Seminary, and the University of Edinburgh, New College. Dr. Payne is a visiting lecturer in practical theology at Reformed Theological Seminary, Atlanta, Convener of the Gospel Reformation Network, series co-editor of and contributor to the Lectio Continua Expository Commentary on the New Testament (Reformation Heritage Books, 2012—), and author/editor of several books including John Owen On the Lord’s Supper (Banner of Truth, 2004), In the Splendor of Holiness: Rediscovering the Beauty of Reformed Worship for the 21st Century (Tolle Lege, 2008; translated into Spanish, Burmese, Chinese, Portuguese, and Italian), and A Faith Worth Teaching: The Heidelberg Catechism’s Enduring Heritage (Reformation Heritage Books, 2013). Dr. Payne is presently working on the Luke volume for the Lectio Continua series and a book on church planting tentatively entitled, Reflections of a Reformed Church Planter. He also contributes to a number of publications including Tabletalk, The Gospel Coalition, Expositor Magazine, Reformation 21, The Gospel Reformation Network, and Modern Reformation, among others. Pastor Payne and his wife Marla live in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. They have been married for 19 years and have two children, Mary Hannah (14) and Hans (12).
