Financial Aid

Westminster Seminary California’s financial aid program is available to provide degree-seeking students (M.A./M.Div.) with the financial resources necessary to complete their seminary education. The financial aid program is designed to supplement each student’s own financial resources (i.e. savings, family and church support, and part-time employment) through a combination of scholarships, grants and student loans. Financial aid information for new and returning students is available here.

Students are encouraged to contact to the Financial Aid Coordinator with specific questions related to financial aid.

International Students

International student questions and concerns should be directed to the Senior Enrollment Specialist. Additional information for International Students is available here: International Students

Employment

Various on and off-campus employment opportunities are provided to WSC Students through the seminary listserv and posted on the employment section of the website.

Housing

The Office of Admissions is available to assist new and returning students in finding suitable accommodations by providing informative resources on housing opportunities in the community. These opportunities include rooms, houses, or apartments for rent in Escondido and elsewhere in San Diego County.

Health Insurance

Due to the inherent financial risks in the event of a student’s or a family member’s accident or illness, WSC strongly encourages all students and their dependents to possess adequate health insurance.  Since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), WSC has not been able to secure a reasonable health insurance option for our students.  It is recomended that students seek out private insurance options in addition to those offered through the Covered California.  International students must have health insurance throughout their enrollment at WSC and should consider the options provided by ISO Insurance or International Student Insurance.

For information regarding health insruance options, students should contact the WSC Financial Aid Coordinator.

Veteran’s Administration Educational Benefits

Eligible veterans may receive GI Bill® education benefits at Westminster Seminary California through either the Montgomery GI Bill or the Post 9/11 GI Bill. The VA Post 9/11 GI Bill provides funds for tuition and fees, as well as a monthly housing allowance and book stipend based on the length of time served after September 11, 2001. Each veteran must contact the VA directly to determine their eligibility. Contact the Registrar’s Office for more information and to begin enrollment certification.

Because the WSC annual tuition costs are below $17,500 per year, we are not eligible to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program.  Student with 100% VA funding recieve the full cost of tuition and fees (in addition to a living stipend, if eligible) while attending WSC.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by VA is available at the official U.S. government website at https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.
