We all know that the best way to learn an art, craft, or trade is from someone who has experience or expertise in that area. This is especially true for those considering pastoral ministry. Preparing for the ministry, like the ministry itself, takes time, care, and intentionality.
Since her founding, Westminster Seminary California has been committed to pastors training pastors. We would like to invite you to interact with some of those pastors about our opportunities to study, learn, and mentor alongside other shepherds (from pastors, by pastors, for pastors).
Here are three opportunities on the near horizon:
Seminary for a Day – March 11
The Seminary for a Day experience is a great way to get an authentic taste of Westminster before committing to a school. Those who attend will be able to meet personally with professors, sit in on classes, as well as tour the grounds and campus housing. Travel grants are available for those who may need assistance, and if you are unable to attend on March 11, you can still schedule a personal visit or Zoom interview to get to know the school.
The den Dulk Lecture Series – March 29-31
Every year, this lecture series features an experienced pastor sharing the inside scoop on life in the ministry. This year’s speaker is Rev. Ted Hamilton, a long-time local minister with the PCA. You can join us in listening in person or on-line.
Pastors Panel – March 31
We invite incoming students to participate in a one-hour Q&A with our pastor-scholars about training at Westminster. The panel of faculty members will answer questions about preparing for ministry over Zoom from 11:15-12:15 PST. Look for more details to come!
