St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church the Richard Nixon Presidential Library
Thursday, October 25, 2018 6:00 PM Reception & Southwestern Buffet 7:30 PM Program
Why is the American government shaped the way it is, and what were the ideas that led to its formation? Why for example do we have distinct branches of separate but equal powers, rather than a sole ruler with sovereign authority? Also, what led the founders to make a clear separation between church and state?
Join us for this special event as we discuss the beliefs that helped shape the American political landscape down to the present day. Speakers include Dr. Michael Horton, professor of Theology and Apologetics at Westminster Seminary California, Dr. Adam Francisco, the chair of History and Political Thought at Concordia University in Irvine California, and Dr. David Corbin, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Providence Christian College in Pasadena California.
