WSC's 41st Annual Commencement took place on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. W. Robert Godfrey, Ph.D., President Emeritus at Westminster Seminary California, delivering the commencement address.
Dear Friends,
Thank you for joining us on this special day to celebrate the Lord’s work in the lives of our 41st class of graduates. Today they join more than 1,200 alumni who are serving as pastors, church planters, missionaries, teachers, scholars, counselors, and lay leaders in more than 30 countries throughout the world.
Westminster Seminary California (WSC) is the only fully accredited Reformed seminary in the Western United States. For over four decades, WSC has been preparing men and women to glorify Christ, proclaim His Gospel, and serve His Church. WSC remains committed to the inspiration and authority of Scripture as expressed in the fullness of the Reformed Confessions, and to a mode of education that values academic rigor and face-to-face interaction in a spiritual community. Disruptions caused by the global pandemic have not dampened our commitment to and conviction for face-to-face education. Rather, these challenges have only reinforced for us the importance of learning together in a community of faith by sharpening one another in understanding theology and shaping one another in loving and serving God’s people.
We recognize how difficult this past year has been for families, churches, and communities both near and far, but as we slowly but surely return to “normal,” we are thankful. We are grateful for our students, who remained faithful and resilient despite many changes and challenges, for our faculty and administration, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to support the students, and for friends and partners of the seminary, who remained generous and faithful in the midst of uncertainties.
Most of all, we give thanks to the Lord for his abundant provisions and protection. Despite at times overwhelming change, we believe in and find comfort in the One who does not change, our Father in Heaven. Firmly believing that Christ works through His Word to build His Church, WSC is committed to preparing and launching faithful ministers and teachers who will lift up the name of Christ Jesus on high wherever the Lord places them.
As we celebrate the Lord’s goodness in the lives of these servants graduating today, please join us in praying that they will be filled with the joy of Christ and His Gospel wherever the Lord calls them to serve.
Congratulations Class of 2022!
