As the fall turned to the “winter” (San Diego temperatures are in the mid-70s in early January), student housing construction crews have shifted from framing to the installation of plumbing and electrical in all buildings. With the plumbing and electrical work nearly complete, some buildings have begun to undergo insulation and drywall work. These steps will allow for interior finish work in the spring, including installation of flooring, appliances, and lighting.
The new well has been servicing the hundreds of shrubs and trees that have been planted during the fall and early winter, allowing them to take root. The rest of the landscape planting will occur in the spring. Each day the site looks less like a construction zone and more like a neighborhood. We look forward to students creating a community together in this neighborhood before the next academic year.
