All About Moving to Escondido

Off-Campus Housing

Housing is one of the most basic concerns for students relocating to Escondido to attend Westminster Seminary California. The Office of Admissions provides extensive housing resources for our students.

Local Apartments

There are numerous apartment complexes within walking and driving distance from the WSC campus. Students have lived in several of these complexes and recommend them to new students.

Alternative Housing

The Office of Admissions maintains a list of local rooms, guest homes, and houses for rent through private homeowners. These opportunities are often less expensive than apartments.

Roommates

A list of interested individuals seeking roommates and shared housing situations is part of the alternative housing list.

Purchasing a house

The Office of Admissions has a list of recommended realtors.

Questions?

If you have any questions about housing, please contact Mark MacVey ([email protected]). He is happy to give you information about any of the resources listed above and assist you in your housing search.

Change of Address

When students arrive in the area they should notify the Office of Admissions of their new address and contact information at [email protected].

Driver’s License and Vehicle Registration

The State of California requires all new residents to obtain a CA driver’s license within 10 days of relocating to California and register their vehicles within 20 days of relocating. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in monetary penalties through the CA Department of Motor Vehicles.

For more information visit the California DMV website.

Local Attractions

Escondido is centrally located in southern California. Only 25 miles from San Diego, 15 miles from the Pacific coast, and 100 miles from Los Angeles, there are a wide variety of things to do in and around Escondido. Sunny and 70 degrees most of the year, Southern California is a beautiful place to learn, grow, play, and study. While many days will be spent in the library, be sure to enjoy the local scenery!

Local Churches

Westminster Seminary California prepares preachers, teachers, and missionaries for primarily Reformed and Presbyterian denominations. We are blessed to have many churches in Escondido and in surrounding cities throughout San Diego. Several of our students, faculty, staff, and alumni serve these churches. We are happy to help recommend a congregation to you when you are in the area. For more questions, just call the front office at (760) 480-8474.
