The Jerusalem church’s appointment of seven servants to care for widows is a pivotal event in the spread of Christ’s gospel after the Holy Spirit’s descent at Pentecost. In the fall 2016 semester, a series of meditations will explore six themes that intersect in Acts 6, themes that should control our perspectives and priorities in the church today.
