Last year the web was buzzing with Harold Camping's prediction about the end of the world. Camping's organization spent millions of dollars on various forms of advertisements to warn people of the inpending consummation. But what many might not have known was that this was not Camping's first failed prediction of the end of the world. WSC's own president, Dr. Robert Godfrey, wrote a series of posts explaining the theological errors of Camping's views. You can find the first of Dr. Godfrey's posts here.
Recently Camping issued a statement admitting he was wrong and offers an explanation here. In many ways this whole event was very sad but a solemn reminder that ours is not to predict what has not been revealed but what has been revealed, namely the gospel.
