Other Student Information
Financial Aid
Westminster Seminary California’s financial aid program is available to provide degree-seeking students (M.A./M.Div.) with the financial resources necessary to complete their seminary education. The financial aid program is designed to supplement each student’s own financial resources (i.e. savings, family and church support, and part-time employment) through a combination of scholarships, grants and student loans. Financial aid information for new and returning students is available here.
Students are encouraged to contact to the Financial Aid Coordinator with specific questions related to financial aid.
International Students
International student questions and concerns should be directed to the Director of Enrollment Management. Additional information for International Students is available here: International Students
Employment
Various on and off-campus employment opportunities are provided to WSC Students through the seminary listserv and posted on the employment section of the website.
Housing
The Office of Admissions is available to assist new and returning students in finding suitable accommodations by providing informative resources on housing opportunities in the community. These opportunities include rooms, houses, or apartments for rent in Escondido and elsewhere in San Diego County.
Health Insurance
Due to the inherent financial risks in the event of a student’s or a family member’s accident or illness, WSC strongly encourages all students and their dependents to possess adequate health insurance.
A plan is available to students and their dependents enrolled in nine or more units per semester through United Healthcare Student Resources. The plan is for students who are enrolled in nine or more units for credit, voluntary, reasonably-priced and is available for students and their dependents for up to a 12-month period. International students are required to possess medical insurance and therefore are strongly encouraged to utilize this plan.
For more information, enrollment dates and enrollment forms, please visit the UHCSR website (type Westminster in the search box)
The paper application and a booklet with plan information is available through the WSC Financial Aid Coordinator. For information regarding this plan and other available options, students should contact the WSC Financial Aid Coordinator .
Veteran’s Administration Educational Benefits
Eligible veterans may receive GI Bill education benefits at Westminster Seminary California through either the Montgomery GI Bill or the Post 9/11 GI Bill. The VA Post 9/11 GI Bill provides funds for tuition and fees, as well as a monthly housing allowance and book stipend based on the length of time served after September 11, 2001. Each veteran must contact the VA directly to determine their eligibility. Contact the Registrar’s Office for more information and to begin enrollment certification.
