We found the preaching from these men to be consistently Christ-centered…so that the congregation has not only fed on Christ but we have come to recognize and expect the comfort and growth that comes from such preaching.

Pulpit Supply Program

The purpose of the Pulpit Supply Program is to encourage the relationship between WSC and the churches we serve as licensed students and faculty bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to open pulpits.

Description

WSC will coordinate the pulpit supply between participating churches and a student (who has been approved to preach by his local church) or a faculty member. WSC will fund travel expenses (see policies and procedures) and the churches will pay an honorarium.

Policies

The WSC Pulpit Supply Program has been very active and well received. So far this year, 100 requests have been fulfilled; many more are in process. For the rest of 2011, however, our budget has been met. So we are unable to make additional commitments at this time. Please check back in January 2012!

Responses by Participating Churches

"We found the preaching from these men to be consistently Christ-centered…so that the congregation has not only fed on Christ but we have come to recognize and expect the comfort and growth that comes from such preaching. In addition to the high caliber of scholarship and sound doctrine, the maturity and pastoral leaning of the students are evidence of the emphasis on Reformed piety and practice encouraged at the seminary.

This kind of hands-on service is an important element of how a seminary should function and we pray often for the ongoing growth and ministry of WSC. Lord willing, we will be calling a minister within the next few weeks (very possibly a WSC alumnus) but I’m confident that we will continue to partner with the seminary for future pulpit supply. This is a welcome development for the future of Christ’s Church."

"Omaha Reformed Church, a church plant of Faith OPC (Lincoln, NE), had the wonderful privilege of hearing senior WSC student, Chuck Tedrick, minister to us from God’s Word yesterday thanks to your Pulpit Supply Program. My family and I, and now our church plant, has benefited so richly from the ministry of WSC: through the faithful books that your professors and graduates have written and, yesterday, as we took advantage of this very generous program. May God continue to bless WSC, its faculty, students, and graduates!"
