Inauguration of J. V. Fesko

On Tuesday, November 6, 2012, President W. Robert Godfrey and the Board of Trustees inaugurated Dr. J. V. Fesko as WSC's Professor of Systematic and Historical Theology. The inauguration ceremony was held in the seminary chapel.

The title of Dr. Fesko’s inaugural lecture was "Romans 8:29-30: The Ordo Salutis and the Democracy of the Dead."

The Rev. Dr. W. Robert Godfrey installed Dr. Fesko as a full professor after asking him to reaffirm his oath, in the presence of God and the trustees and faculty of Westminster Seminary California, to continue to uphold and subscribe the confessional standards of the seminary.  All faculty, the president, and trustees of the seminary must subscribe (as stated in the seminary bylaws) the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms, the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.

The charge to Dr. Fesko was given by Dr. David VanDrunen, the Robert B. Strimple Professor of Systematic Theology and Christian Ethics at Westminster Seminary California.

A reception for Dr. and Mrs. Fesko followed immediately in the chapel foyer.

Dr. Fesko’s inauguration was a milestone for him and an occasion for recognizing his work. Dr. Fesko has served our faculty and students for more than three years as our Academic Dean and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology. He is an ordained minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) and was the pastor of Geneva OPC in Woodstock, Georgia for eleven years before joining the faculty of WSC in July 2009.
