Shortly after starting his pastoral ministry in New
Jersey in 1947, Dr. Kline was appointed to teach Old
Testament language and literature at Westminster Theological
Seminary, where he served until 1965. He went on to teach at
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, becoming Professor
Emeritus of Old Testament in 1993. He has also been a
visiting professor at the School of Theology at Claremont
(CA). In 1982 Dr. Kline became Professor of Old Testament at
Westminster Seminary California, until his retirement in
2002. Dr. Kline is a minister in the Orthodox Presbyterian
Church. Among his publications are: Kingdom Prologue, Treaty
of the Great King, By Oath Consigned, The Structure of
Biblical Authority, Images of the Spirit, and Glory in Our
Midst. He has also contributed to New Bible Dictionary,
Wycliffe Bible Commentary, Biblical and Near Eastern
Studies, Through Christ’s Word, and such journals as
Westminster Theological Journal, Journal of the Evangelical
Theological Society, and Perspectives on Science and the
Christian Faith.
He and his wife Grace live in Massachusetts.
