Academic Policies > Class Conflict Petition

Students may petition to fulfill requirements for two overlapping classes. Both professors must sign the petition. Students filing class conflict petitions are expected to divide their attendance between the class sessions of the courses involved and complete all assignments.

Petition Procedures
The petition deadline is on the normally scheduled registration day. Students will not be allowed to register for either course until the petition, signed by both professors, is submitted to the Registrar. If this deadline is missed, a late registration fee will be charged. The student is responsible for the following:

  • obtaining the Class Conflict Petition form from the Registrar’s office or from the WSC web-site
  • meeting with the professors to arrange for attendance and for obtaining all material covered in both courses, and obtains the professors’ signatures.
  • submitting the completed petition to the Registrar at the time of registration.
