WSC Distinctives |
What makes WSC a unique place to receive graduate
theological education?
A united faculty comprised of
pastor-scholars providing the best in theological education
to a diverse student body, face to face, in an amazing
location.
A UNITED FACULTY
- The faculty subscribe to the Westminster Confession of
Faith and the Three Forms of Unity and thus are remarkably
unified in their understanding of Scripture and ministry
COMPRISED OF PASTOR-SCHOLARS
- Our full-time faculty consists primarily of ordained
ministers in Presbyterian or Reformed denominations who hold
earned doctorate degrees from respected universities in
their particular fields of study
- Our professors are active in congregational ministry,
which maximizes the value and relevance of our education and
preparation of future pastors and church leaders
PROVIDING THE BEST IN THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION
- Our rigorous theological education focuses on the study of
the Scriptures in their original languages, Hebrew and
Greek, within the context of our confessional Protestant
faith
- We pursue this study while in dialogue with the
catholic (i.e. universal) tradition— leading pastors and
scholars of today and throughout history
TO A DIVERSE STUDENT BODY
- Our diverse student body is made of students from across
the United States and several foreign countries
- WSC’s multi-denominational student body, representing
over 30 denominations and church groups, ensures an
atmosphere of challenging and stimulating discussions about
theology and ministry
FACE TO FACE
- Our established faculty to student ratio is 1:12, enabling
students to receive a substantial amount of face to face
time with faculty members in and out of the classroom
- The low faculty to student ratio ensures that students are
able to develop formative relationships with faculty—a
crucial element to the practical and pastoral aspects of
theological education
IN AN AMAZING LOCATION
- Our beautiful ten-acre campus in suburban San Diego County
provides a great setting to study in community with other
believers
