Facilities
Westminster Seminary California is located in north San Diego County, one of
the fastest growing areas in California. Its moderate climate (often cited
as the finest in the world), clean air, small cities, and beautiful open
spaces make it a delightful area in which to live, study, and minister. At
the same time it is just 30 miles northeast of San Diego and 100 miles south
of Los Angeles. The Escondido area is the optimum size to permit both
faculty and students to secure housing close to the campus and establish a
genuine Christian community. There are Reformed and evangelical churches
nearby, as well as Christian schools. The population of Escondido itself
exceeds 120,000.
The seminary's 8.6-acre campus overlooks a residential and semi-rural
section of the community, but it is also only a mile from one of the main
arteries of Escondido. The library/administration building houses an
extensive library collection, classroom, bookstore, the offices of White
Horse Media, and faculty and administrative offices in its 23,000 square
feet. The central quad is surrounded by two additional buildings, one
housing classrooms, the other with additional offices and the Student
Lounge.
The chapel/lecture hall, the most recent addition to our seminary
facilities, is a beautiful 7200 square foot building that seats over 250
people. The chapel is used regularly for seminary classes, morning
devotions, and seminary-sponsored conferences.
Much of the orange grove that formerly covered the campus has been preserved
for student and staff enjoyment. Spacious lawns provide students the
opportunity to reflect on God's Word and God's work while surrounded by the
beauty of his creation.
